Squash

Physical, Mental & Strategy

I play a few times a week, at a reasonably serious level. The irritating thing about squash is that the dull stuff wins matches. Footwork, length, turning up when you would rather not. Product work is much the same: the fundamentals quietly compound, and the shortcuts catch up with you.

Pretty basic, honestly. The enjoyment is in the exploring and the noticing. It gets me outside, and feeds a different kind of creative need.

Travel

People, History & Getting Lost

Being an Australian in Europe means everywhere is suspiciously close. I am more interested in the people and the history than the landmarks, and will happily lose an afternoon just walking and exploring.
